Regina Espina
is a singer-songwriter based in Edmonton, Alberta. She performs across indie folk, Latin folk, North American traditional folk, rancheras, jazz, and blues. With a background in vocal jazz and a deep appreciation for both traditional and contemporary folk music, her work is influenced by artists such as Joan Baez, Nina Simone, and Lizzy McAlpine.
Whether performing her own songs or interpreting music that has inspired her, Regina approaches each performance with honesty, expressive vocals, and a genuine connection to her audience. She strives to create intimate performances that invite listeners into each song and highlight the emotion behind the music.
She is currently recording her debut singles with Edmonton's 2026 Canadian Choice Awards Entertainer of the Year, John Hewitt, with a release planned for early fall 2026. As she continues to grow as a songwriter and performer, Regina is committed to developing a sound that is uniquely her own. While her roots remain grounded in folk traditions, she is drawn to exploring ethereal textures, atmospheric soundscapes, and experimental ideas, continuing to expand her creativity while staying true to the emotional core of her music.
